HERBS AND MINTS THAT CAN GROW IN HOME

INTRODUCTION

Herbs are one of the most important crop which you can easily grow in your house in a container or a pot and looks beautiful and attractive. Still, you have to keep in mind some points to make your herbs reach in green bush  with leaves. Some of the herbs and mints which can be easily grown in home are mentioned below:

1)MINT

It can be easily grown in pot or container which is versatile in nature. It will cope up with the different shapes according to the size of the container. Mint is generally used in everything from making tea to coriander chutney. This type of plant should be watered regularly and it will develop into a large bushy plant in the period from April to November. There are different flavourful mints which include peppermint, spearmint, chocolate and many more. These type of plant can easily tolerate a temperature of 30 degree.

2)PARSLEY

This is very slow to grow from seed but once it is grown, it will give you a huge quantity of  leaves for almost two years before it gives flower and dies. It is very essential in making delicious food like in pesto, stuffing, chicken, fish and vegetable dishes. It is a little-bit bitter in taste that will make your food more delicious. It is very rich in vitamin A and C, which helps in the process of digestion.

3)CHIVES

The leaves of this herb is onion-flavoured and it is added to salad, eggs, soup to change the taste and make it more delicious. It grows best in places where it receives huge amount of bright sunlight. The flowers of this herb are nice in the spring season which are delicious in taste. This herb is very easy to grow which needs only bright sunlight and damp soil . This herb is a rich source of  beta carotene and vitamin C.

4)ROSEMARY

This type of herb is one of the most popular herb which have nice flavour and it is important to add those items in various food products like poultry, meet and vegetables . It can be easily grown in the house and plant it during spring season.This herb has a delighted perfume and also used in different flower arrangement. It also needs bright light and love dry soil rather than moist soil. So you must be careful while watering those herbs. It likes hot weather in the summer month and prefers cool temperature during winter season.

5)CORIANDER

Coriander leaves is also known as Chinese parsley which can be added to spicy foods like chills, Mexican, chinese, south-east Asian and Indian cuisines. Generally this herbs grow early in the season but does not like warm temperature.The best time to grow coriander is from august to September and you will get the leaves of coriander during the late autumn season. The plant will survive throughout the winter and can become strong and have a green lush in the spring season.

6)BASIL

This herb likes the warmth weather and it’s best grown in a bright, sheltered spot so it can be easily grown at home. It is used in many cuisines but it is most popular in Italian dishes like salads, pizzas, sauces and pesto. It has various health benefits because it has anti-oxidant properties  and helps to maintain blood sugar level.

7)SAGE

It is an herb which has an aromatic smell due to which it is added as flavour in meats, sauces, and different vegetables. It act as pain reliever in case of any inflammation happens. It will help to increase your memory power . It is very easy to grow in home as it does not need any special care and attracts bees a lot.

CONCLUSION

Lastly, it can be said that there re different mints and herbs which can be easily grown in our house without any special care. Moreover all these herbs makes our food more delicious and have different health benefits.
