AN EXQUISITE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUMAN AND PLANT WORLD

By Bhuvaneshwari M

Humans as a biological species exist in symbiotic relations with some portion of the whole of plants and animals, which we call “agricultural” or “domesticated.” Our welfare as a biological species directly depends upon the extent to which we offer for the welfare of our symbionts: the agricultural plants and animals. https://naturesignature.in/. An exquisite relationship between humans and plants world.

LEARNING FROM PLANTS

Not only do we see plants everywhere in the real world, but they are also all over the scientific world. Some scientists use them to study genetics. Gregor Mendel used pea plants and their flowers to return up with a number of the primary ideas on how traits are passed from one generation to a different. Botanists might look at weeds and learn how they are able to become resistant to herbicides. Other scientists develop new plants that are more immune to disease and insects. On a non-scientific level, farmers are observing plants for thousands of years. Scientists search for plants that grow quickly and have higher yields. They also know about good fertilizers and the amount of water needed to have the most productive crops. Once they interpret how one species works, they take that knowledge and apply it to other crops.

MEDICINE

One of the great samples of plants giving medicine to man is an aloe plant. In the core of the leaves of an aloe plant are compounds that soothe burns on our skin. Man, also gets something called digitalis from plants. The truly exciting discoveries are in the future. Scientists are analyzing plants on a daily basis to seek out if they need any compounds which will help humans survive and lead a far better life. They are the magic healing herbs for us.

PLACES TO LIVE

If we live in a house, chances are it was made of wood or there is wood in the house. We have used wood to make our homes for thousands of years. Huge lumber companies grow entire forests to provide the quantity of wood needed for our world. As properties got larger, construction turned to concrete and steel. We will probably still find wood fixtures such as paneling inside these large steel buildings.

BIG TIME FARMING

As time has passed, we’ve taken organic farming to new levels. We have manipulated species to make big apples and enormous ears of corn. The plants would never have done it within the wild. It took the man to change the plants. We also are moving toward the genetic alteration of plants. We’re trying to form plants that are immune to disease and bugs. These stronger plants will allow our crops to offer us more food from a constant amount of space.

The evolutionary success of both humankind and its plant symbionts is linked with the rise of a strong mutual dependence between the partners. Many domesticated plants cannot survive in nature without human assistance. On the other hand, the survival and prosperity of the human population of the world absolutely depends upon the performance of the main domesticates.
